I have a small orchid in my yard and each tree needs it's own set of pruners and these are the best I have ever used. I have tried many others over the years and i must say these have worked best for me. I will tell you out of all the sets I have bought, I did have one set that rusted horribly , WHY ? I have no idea as I care for all of them the same way. I am replacing that set now. To bad I didn't contact the company sooner but I just noticed it today when I went to prune my pear tree,After first use these secateurs immediately became my favorite. They fit very comfortably into the hand with a broad upper handle and with a small pressure applied releases the lock. Neat! They are indeed very sharp- and render a clean cut even on dry wood. The locking mechanism is smooth and easy and works every time without breaking fingernails to get it closed. The return spring is quite hefty and strong and makes cutting a real effortless treat. It is also firmly set so that it is unlikely to fly off. I cannot give count to the number of springs that have been lost over the years so I am especially happy that a spare is included. It is heavier than any previous units I have had which some may not like, but, overall the weight is reassuring to my hand that this is solid, reliable, well engineered and built tool.When I got these shears they looked, felt, and worked great. I noticed that an extra spring was included in the package and wondered where I could stash it to use if it was needed, hopefully in the very distant future. Then I started using the shears and within an hour noticed that the spring had disappeared from them. So, I installed the spare spring and tied it in place with a zip tie so hopefully it doesn't disappear too. The shears work great though so I'm still pretty satisfied with them.It doesn't stay locked because after locking if you move it or put it down, it opens back by itself.Like them alot. The lock is a little touchy but no biggy.Good job.Purchased this to replace our old pair of pruners. This item is well made, and it cuts very cleanly. Comes with a spare spring. Used them all summer for flower and fruit tree pruning and still look like new. Important to keep them clean and lubricated after use as with any pair of pruners to prevent rust.Just received these & went out & clipped a ton of blackberry vines worked greatEasy grip! They don't seem to lock very well though. When you push the button up to lock it, it does not stay most of the time.
