As a pretty avid gardener, I have 'been there, done that' for a lot of the gardening techniques out there. The idea of putting plants together in containers so that they are beneficial to each other is a new one for me. I am excited to try it. Being able to grow some plants on my deck where they are easily accessible and I don't have to bend my creaky knees so much sounds like a winner to me.This book is a great primer for people with no gardening experience and also for those of us who have been in the gardening game for a while. Most interesting is the list of plants and their 'good companions' and 'not so good companions'. I was able to quickly see the plants I usually use and make a list of which ones that will go with them, ie. tomatoes and basil!I am even thinking about building a large planter for my deck! Now that's being inspired by a book! I can see that this book will encourage people in apartments and with very little outdoor space to get their green thumbs warmed up grow some plants in containers!
