I'm a gardener for several years but sometimes I will still look up info or need a tip. I don't like having to grab and dirty up my phone at those times. I also like having an actual book. This book has lots of info and tips that I've been able to apply to my gardening! I recommend it.Gardeners this is the best book on gardening I have seen. I actually wore out the the first book purchased several years ago. A must for novice or professional gardeners! Most of the questions I had about gardening were answered in this book. Highly recommended.30 + year gardener -- and this one is great -- order a used one, save a tree!!i got this book for a classmate and i because i found it in an old magazine for a gift and thought we could use uit for our gardensIt is a very basic guide and probably a good introduction if you know very little about gardening. I gave it 3 stars for its non-intimidating approach to gardening and brief, easy to read style. With that said there is a reason copies are selling for less than $2. Some of the info is bad, I mean really bad, making me question any of the info (is the info on brassicas true?). It seems they wanted to be everything to everybody but clearly they knew more about some crops than others. If there isn’t at least a full page on the topic, move along and garlic, leeks & peppers can be disregarded completely, as you are more likely to ruin you crop or worse. Will I toss this book? Not sure. Would I recommend this book? Not at all. There are much better books (see Storey Publishing’s series) and while they don’t cover everything in 1 book, the per topic titles are easy, encouraging & accurate.exactly what I was looking for !Awesome book covers all basics and helps get you started with gardening
